When I "right click" on the Windows desktop, I receive
the error message, "Windows Explorer has encountered a
problem and needs to close". My screen refreshes, but I
can't get to my desktop functions, ie. making shortcuts,
etc. I have tried the knowledgebase, but I can't find
this exact scenario. How can I eliminate this error?

Hi Russ,

Start/run "sfc /scannow" and have it check the integrity of the system
files. You may need your WinXP CD for this.
