Windows Explorer folder display setting

Is there a registry setting that can be changed to PERMANENTLY change the
DEFAULT folder view in Windows Explorer to Details from Icons??

Hello,

First, set your view to Details in a folder..

View > Icons

...Next go to..

Tools > Folder Options > View (tab) > Apply to All Folders

I'll ask the question again. Is there a way to modify the registry settings
for Windows Explorer to PERMANENTLY change the default view to Details?? The
"normal" procedure which you describe and which I have used is NOT PERMANENT,
so I am looking for a different procedure.
