Windows XP SP2

First of all I'm NOT an novice with computers.

My issue is I delete a folder in explorer a little while ago and the folder
still shows up in explorer after several restarts. I've tried to delete
again using command prompt and explorer again but with no success. It says:

"refers to a location is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this
computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly
inserted, or that you are connect to the internet or network, and then try
again. If it still cannot be located the information might have been moved to
a different location."

Its not the only folder on the drive and everything else work fine. Any
clues or suggestions? If you need anymore info then this let me know.

It says it s a File Folder.

In detail view, does its type show as 'Folder' or 'File Folder'?

I appreciate it Rick. The Chkdsk worked great. It solved the problem.
Apperently something got screwed up with the indexes and the third step in
the fixed the problem.
