Windows explorer doesn't remember screen size

I recently had to re-install windows on my PC & now I can't get the windows
explorer
screen to remember the size that I resize it to. Everytime I click the
desktop icon it
comes up to some default (small) size. I always have to make it bigger. it
previously
(before re-install) would remember the size when I closed it down & brought
it back up again. Can someone
please tell how to make it remember the size. This is driving me nuts.

Resize the window, then press CTRL while you close it.
