Hello NG members

I am sure that there is an easy answer but at my age I am forgetting too
many aspects of setting up XP(+SP2) start-up conditions.

Windows explorer which has always opened displaying "My Computer" is
suddenly changed to opening displaying "My Documents".

I have been through all of the obvious settings but cannot get it to go back
to "My Computer".

It is not a major issue but I would like to fix it.

TIA

Hi Silver,
Right click the Shortcut/icon for windows explorer and select properties
from the list.
On the Explorer properties click on Shortcut Tab and make these changes:

Target: [ %SystemRoot%\explorer.exe /e, C:\ ]

Start in: [ %HOMEDRIVE%%HOMEPATH% ]

Customize the Windows Explorer Views in Windows XP:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=314853

Have Windows Explorer Default to the %SystemRoot% Drive When Started:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=257518

HOpe this which you are after.
