windows explorer crashing?

My taskbar is still disappearing about 5x's a day.

Anti-virus definitions are up to date.
Ad-Aware has been run plenty of times.

I uninstalled the DivX codec that someone mentioned might
be the problem.

And it's not because of the software I installed. (It
does it with other applications too, sometimes when I
close windows, others if I right click on the desktop)

Any ideas or suggestions?

check the logs for a faulting driver or other
error.otherwise a reinstall might be in order..also do you
have quicktime as unchecking the tiff file association at
install should stop this error too.
and also run spybot safer-networking.org for additional
spywares protection.
how about update kb835732 uninstall it and see if any diff.

It isn't spyware nor QuickTime. How would I check the
logs, and what effect does the KB835732 update have?
