Hello,

I keep seeing the following error message on a number of systems
running XP SP2 when user's click on the search icon in windows
explorer:

Faulting application explorer.exe, version 6.0.2900.2180, faulting
module unknown, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00000000.

This does not happen every time you click on the search icon and
sometime search will work for days before the problem arises again. The
systems the problem is occuring have all the latest security updates
and mcafee on.

Any ideas what is causing the problem.

Regards,

Jim

Try reinstalling search :
C:\Windows\Inf
Right click srchasst.inf and choose Install
