Windows Explorer Context Menu Query

KiwiBrian

When I right click on a HTML file, one of the entries in the Context Menu is
Textpad.
This is what I want but it does not work properly, just locking up Explorer.
If I select Open With and select Textpad it operates OK.
I had expected to find an entry for Textpad in Tools | Folder Options | File
Types that might have an invalid path, but there is no entry there for
Textpad.
How do I repair the Textpad link in the Context Menu?
TIA

Hi Brian,
What is Textpad? See what you have listed under File Types for TXT.

Hi Kelly
Thanks for responding.
Textpad is my favored HTML Editor, but I welcome an alternative
recommendation.
It is not listed in the .txt category of file types.
As there is no entry for Textpad under the HTML category, but there is an
entry for Textpad in the Context Menu I am unclear how to proceed.
Thanks

I have been able to successfully add a new entry with the name "Textpad new
version" which works, but how do I remove the spurious entry of "Textpad"
from the right click context menu?
Brian.

Meanwhile, look for the TextPad menu item in these registry locations:

HKCR\htmlfile\shell\
HKCR\SystemFileAssociations\text\shell\
HKCR\*\Shell\
HKCR\AllFilesystemObjects\shell\

Hi Brian,

Sorry, I should have read further. If you did this manually, then you are
familiar with the area of the registry as per it's removal.
