Windows Explorer closes on right click

After downloading updates from the Microsoft Update site, Everytime I try and
right click on a file or folder, Windows Explorer closes with a C++ error.
When I try and pick copy or other function from the menu, the same results
occur. After going through the KB's it tells me that this problem has been
identified and a hotfix is available but not without paying through support.
It involves the msvcirt.dll file. I have verified that the file I have is
older than than what the KB lists. I don't undertsand why I would have to pay
for support when one of the last Microsoft update obviously caused the problem

Hi Gino,

Right-click problems are usually by buggy shell extensions (usually
third-party ones). To isolate the problem, see "Method 2" in the following
article.

Right-click is slow or weird behavior caused by context menu handlers:

These are not the symptoms. I get booted out and Windows Explorer shuts down
with a Visual C++ error. I have read through KB's and other posts of similar
erros and found reference to the Google Toolbar or other download managers. I
do run Google Toolbar and went through the process of uninstalling it,
clearing the registry of references to it, re-booting and the problem still
exists. The only new software installed within the last few months had been
updates directly from Windows update. I have not been able to find other
references to it. I have also run BHO Demon and Toolbar cop without any
success which leads to more evidence that it is not 3rd party related.
