Windows Explorer Bugs

I have been experiencing problems with my windows explorer and am quite
perplexed as to how to fix these problems.
After opening the explorer and then moving to the folder that I want to
access, the explorer then responds with a problem and starts to shut down
and then restart. I then repeat the process and the same result happens
again. Then after a few attempts I finally get a stable window.
Can anyone shed some light on this and maybe give me a few solutions to the
problem?
