How can I get the date and time of a file to show in Windows Explorer
using WinXP Pro? It must be simple but somehow I'm missing it.

Open Windows Explorer.
Right-click the menu (just above the files listing - name , size, type etc)
and enable/disable all the other columns.

You may also apply this setting to all folders. Tools > Options > View >
"Apply to All folders"
