Windows Error Message

Hello,

I still getting the following error message at random points when I'm surfing the web.

"Runtime Error
Program: C:\Windows\Explorer.Exe
Abnormal Program Termination"

If I were to re-install IE6 (over it's self), would this work and would I lose any of my settings?
