Microsoft Visual C++ run time error

I have this intermittent error when running IE6. The message is:

"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library" Runtime Error!
Program C:\windows\explorer.exe
abnormal program termination

I did a Google search and it appears to have been around for some time, but
there was no real solution that applied. Any help would be much
appreciated.

The browser hijacker parasite called CommonName can cause this. Read the
following and follow the advice.

Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search and Destroy are recommended.
