Windows embedded standard.... what?

What's the differences between XP embedded SP2 w/FP 2007 and Windows
Embedded Standard?
My company own XP embedded SP2 w/FP 2007, would we spend money to get
an upgrade?
Will the first release have no more upgades instead last one?

Note that WES is SP3 based, and that XP embedded is still supported by MS.

there an upgrade path or are we stuck with a discontinued product and have
to pay full price again?

Yes. You have to purchase the new kit and update the license agreement.
