Have you contacted HP or the place that sold it to you? If Vista Home
was pre-installed, it's their problem and I doubt anyone here can help
you other than maybe digging out a HP phone number or email address for
you.

If you bought a retail version of Vista Home and installed it yourself,
you failed to do your homework before installing and, since you've
voided HPs warranty I don't think they can help you, either. You'll
have to use the system recovery disk and put the computer back as it
was when you purchased it.

Isn't lmpgspl.ax the Ligos MPEG Splitter? Is there an update available for
that that fixes this?

Failing that, does uninstalling that (or renaming the file) fix you up?

I just had the problem with the lmpgspl.ax crashes this weekend.

All i did was remove the lmpgspl.ax file and the program worked fine.

i'm on a mac now so i cant give exact paths, but

(1) do a search for the file and
(2) go to the directory it is in and remove it.
(3) try DVD maker again.
