For the last couple of days, my computer has been at random (NOT every single
time though) mistaking single-clicks for double-clicks or two single-clicks
and double-clicks as 2 double-clicks. I haven't installed anything new or
made any major system changes. I went to Folder Options, clicked the view
tab, and my options are set the same way as before, so I know this can't be
causing it. Updating my IntelliPoint software to version 5.2 seemed to reduce
the frequency that this problem occurs, but it's still not completely gone.
For example, when I press the X in the corner of a window to close it, if
there is another window underneath of it, it thinks I have clicked it also,
and closes both windows. Or when I click on a file to open it, it opens twice
because it thinks I have double-clicked it twice. My mouse is a wireless
optical HP scroll mouse. The signal receiver for it is connected to the PS/2
mouse port. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to get rid of this
problem.
