Hello. I had problem when using registry defragmentation tool. My computer
was freeze during the process. I restart the system. But Windows can not
start.

An error message appear on the screen : Windows could not start because the
following file is missing or corrupt
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

YOU CAN ATTEMPT TO REPAIR THIS FILE BY START WINDOWS SETUP USING THE
ORIGINAL SETUP CD-ROM.

I am not able to fix this problem. Instead i reinstall the Windows OS.

How can repair the registry? Please give me some advices. Thank you.

I have the exact same problem, Except I didnt do a defrag, I came home and
found it in the same state
following file is missing or corrupt
\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM
Any help would be nice. It prompts you to boot off the windows cd and press
R to repair. Any help with the Recovery Console would help also
