Windows does not recognize .cda format

My Win XP Pro does not recoginze any music cd I use in either drive. It keeps
telling me that it is an unrecognized format, and will not play any cd's.
However mp3's and dvd's work fine.
Are there any suggestions?
 
You might want to check Windows Media Player and see if that file type is
checked in the File Types applet.
