Windows Desktop Search Freezes on Installation

Windows Desktop Search was installed then deliberately uninstalled on my XP
machine. When I tried to reinstall the program, it froze after three progress
bars appear in the dialog box. I have attempted the installation from the
setup file downloaded to my desktop and using Windows update. Unfortunately,
I cannot reinstall the program. Can anyone advise me on getting this
installed?

How was it " deliberately uninstalled" ?
