Windows Defender

Hi
I run XP (Home) on my machine. I automatically receive updates as they
occur. A couple of months ago I suddenly started to get an error message
each time I boot up and this continuing. The message is: "Application failed
to initialise: 0x800106ba. A problem caused Windows Defender Service to
stop. To start the service, restart your computer OR search Help & Support
on how to start a service manually". I tried the latter but no joy! I have
installed Zone Alarm Pro so I have never taken much interest in Windows
Defender and I wasnt even aware that I had it installed. Perhaps it came in
as an update? Anyway I just press OK and the bootup continues with no
apparent problems. Can someone advise how to stop the above annoying
message ?
