Windows Defender

My Windows Defender is not updating its Malware protection. It cites error
0x80240029. The Microsoft website indicated that I needed to download
Windows Server Update Services, however, this required a prerequisite
download as well. The prerequisite download doesn't appear to be compatible
with Vista yet.

Any ideas on how I can get my Defender to update its Malware protection

Thanks

Better off trying the Newsgroup for Windows Defender:

That error message is typically due to an old (no longer supported) version of Defender.
Go to the MS site and download the current version of Windows Defender. When you install it, it
will remove the old version.
