Hi,
On start up I receive the following message.
Application failed to initalize 0x80016ba.
A problem caused Windows defender service to stop.To start the service
restart your computer,or search help mand support on how to start a servive
manually.
I have done the above but sti;; have the problem

You have the older beta version of Windows defender installed, and
that version expired on 31 December 2006.

What you need to do is to uninstall that version using Control Panel
- Add/Remove Programs and then download and install the final released
version of Windows Defender (still free) from
http://download.microsoft.com
