Windows Defender Updates

Rather concerned to read of the problems members are having with the update
facility on Windows Defender and hope mine is updating properly. I asked for
WD to update daily before scanning and today (18 March 2006) after the scan
the signature version was "1.14.1325.6 built on 15/03/2006 at 23.55". Is my
WD updating correctly or is it three days behind schedule?

Just another query. I did not uninstall MSAS before installing WD. Should
I have done so?

Alvis,
1. Your signature version is up-to-date.
2. When you installed WD, the uninstall of MSAS should have occurred
automatically. If it didn't, you may uninstall, if you wish.

Many thanks "CE" - good to hear my WD is up to date.

As regards uninstalling MSAS, I now see it is not listed under the
Add/Remove facility on My Computer - but there is a file for it listed in
under Programme Files - containing 14 files and 1 folder - 7.07 MB. Should I
simply delete this or leave well alone?

Personally, I hate clutter, so I would delete; but, to be safe,
move MSAS Folder and files to Recycle bin, leave them there for a few days
until you are sure that WD is operating properly, then clean out recycle bin.
