Windows defender update failed error 8024002b

Hi I have installed windows defender but i cannot update the defenition file.
I get the error code 8024002b

any suggestions?

Hi Mark .. I had a simular problem to you... So I went to windows updates and
sure enough their was a update in their for Windows Defender..

Hello Lerky,

I have the same problem. Using AntiSpyware the updates went OK. Now updated
to Windows Defender the "Check fro updates" results to this error number.
Could you be more specific in what update you useed?

Well I down loaded Beta 2 yesterday and I had a simular problem with the
update after actally downloading the software from here.. The problem was
it wouldnt update. So I tried Windows updates as I knew I hadnt updated
Windows Xp for some time so I went to start, Programs, Windows Update... I
found in the updates one for a signiture update for Windows Defender.
