Windows defender problems - cannot install on windows 2000

I tried to Install the new antispyware from Microsoft on our work stations
but they only seem to install on XP, when installing on 2000 it comes up with
an error, please see below:

"This software requires GDI+. Please load the windows 2000 Security Software
PreRequisite Pack"

I tried to find this PreRequisite Pack but I am not sure where I should be
looking, I have service pack 4 on these machines but it still does not work.
Please help!

Yes it should install on Windows 2000 SP4. Try asking them here.

If I understand correctly you've downloaden the dll-file. Place it in your
system32-folder ( despite what Microsoft said on the website, why...I don't
know ). After placing the dll in the system32-folder, Defender should install
easily.

If you also get an error about (a) user(s) not existing.....do the following :

Create a user account called "Users" in the Active Directory. Use any
password, somehow the program just wants this....again I have no idea why.
After installation I de-activated the account, Defender doesn's seem to use
it further.

Hope this helps
