Windows Defender Error 0x80072efd

Hi!

I am getting this error 0x80072efd whenever I try to update WinDefender. Can
someone please help me.

Engel,

I tried your fix and i searched the net as well, I can not get defender to
update, I tried everything. I removed the firewall, dropped my setting to
nearly nill, still nothing. Of course I put my setting back, but I have to
tell you once I removed the old version and installed the new defender I can
not update the program at all. I tried uninstalling reinstalling removing
directory etc. Nothing works. There should be a way to force update like
Norton corp edition. HINT HINT HINT right...? Thanks,

Hello PB,

See the post "Success!" about 8 posts up, maybe this can work good for you.
I'd recommend re-downloading, and saving to a known location--like the
desktop.
After the download is complete, disable real-time protection by your
antivirus for long enough to do the installation.
