Windows Defender : Error 0x80010005

When Windows Defender is launched I receive the following message :

Application failed to initialize : 0x80010005 - Les appels extérieurs ne
sont pas autorisés depuis un filtre de messages. (The outside calls are not
authorized since a filter of messages).

WK2000 Pro SP4 French

It seems that this message was already met (see Uwe - 03032006) but I did
not find a fix. Can you help us?

Hello Jean-Pierre.

I have exactly the same problem :
- Windows 2000 Pro SP4 French (with all patches and KB),
- I updated MS Anti-SpyWare to Windows Defender,
- I have installed last version of "GDIPlus" (to make update from MS
Anti-SpyWare possible).

The installation was successfull, but the Windows Defender GUI refuses to
start.

The Servce "Windows Defender Service" (MsMpEng.exe) is running, but when I
launch "C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe", via the icon in
"Programs", I obtain this message in a "Windows Defender" popup (in french) :

"Application failed to initialize: 0x80010005. Les appels extérieurs ne sont
pas autorisés depuis un filtre de messages"

I saw many posts with this problem but no answer by Microsoft.

I'm afraid because MS Anti-Spyware is now uninstalled from my PC and I have
no more Anti-Spyware protection.

Do you think I can reinstall MS-AntiSpyware ?
