Windows Defender can't fix win32/ldpinch

I do a scan and win32/ldpinch is detected. But when I go to apply the
required action, I get a box saying Windows Defender must close some
programs. I click ok and then I get a Windows Defender error message.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Engel;

Sounds like a clone of CCleaner. What's your opinion of this one as
opposed to our old favorite. What I like about CC is that they have good
usable support forums... as I'm sure you know :) Can I ask why you had a
sudden switch in recommendations?

Hi Dave,

For a couple of months I was not able to have access to the support pages, I
try different solutions and my last resort was to do a new installation of
Windows.

Checking Andy Manchesta web page I found this cleaner, and I decide to give
a try, whatever happeng my next step was re-install XP.

After trying HDCleaner the old problem dissaper, also the registry cleaner
found much, more stuff than Ccleaner.

My PC is running better than before, the shot down and start up are fast.

All over all , I like HDCleaner better than Ccleaner IMHO ;-)

Good information. Although the screen shots looks like it's in German
(which might be a problem for me at least). Is that just an optional
localized version and there's an English language one as well? I know it's
not a problem for you!

Well, the problem seems to have fixed itself. Or perhaps it just isn't being
detected anymore.
