Windows could not start because of error in software...

Please report problem as lad needed DLLs for kernel.

I am not able to boot my Windows XP system. I have (among other
possibilities) a bad or mismatched hal.dll . Using my Windows XP Pro
install disk, I am not able to boot into install mode or repair console
(no HD). The repair console works only if I have a USB drive connected
to my system, In all cases I am not able see my HD, unless I am using
partition magic or active partition recovery. I have rebuilt the MBR.
The disk is SATA drive formated for NTFS wih 2 partitions.

When booting in safe mode I see ntoskrnl.exe, hal.dll, kdcom.dll and
bootvid.dll before the ststem halts with the "windows could not
start....". I have also tried booting with a DOS boot disk -- still
no acess the HD.

I need a way to boot the machine that gives me access to my HD so I can
replace the hal.dll and see what else is wrong.

HELP!!!
