I currently run Windows XP Pro and Adobe Photoshop CS2 (making use of Adobe
Gamma so that my monitor is calibrated correctly). So I have created a ICC
profile for my monitor. I also have an ICM profile that comes with the
driver for my monitor, which has been automatically installed with the
driver software under:
Windows XP > Control Panel > Display > Settings > Advanced > Color
Management
Can anyone tell me the actual function of this color management? Since I use
Adobe Gamma and Adobe Photoshop with set workspaces, does this make this
Windows feature obsolete. I cannot find any documentation online or indeed
any other format the explains the function of this? If indeed it IS required
to use this as well as all the other software is anyone able to recommend
which profile should be used (The ICM profile bundled with the monitor or a
custom made ICC profile)?
