Windows Classic Style keeps reverting back to Windows XP Style

This problem is the opposite of what many others have posted. I want
to keep Windows Classic Style but every time I reboot it reverts back
to Windows XP Style. This is a fresh Windows install on a new
computer. I've never had this problem on any of my other Windows XP
systems. I've searched for a solution but haven't seen it addressed.
 
Try disabling the "Themes" service. Go to Start --> Run. Type
"services.msc" into the box and click on OK. Look for the Themes service
and right click it. Select Properties. First, stop the service. Then,
disable it. See if that solves your problem.
 
Thanks, Joseph! That seems to have fixed it. Windows XP Styles
doesn't even appear as an option now. I thought I had tried that
already, but apparently I forgot to disable the Themes service after
stopping it. o.O
