Windows can't copy a file or folder

I'm using an HP MCE 2005 system and have a problem that is I don't think
related to MCE. Whenever I try to copy a folder to paste into another CD or
DVD, I get the message that "Windows is unable to copy this folder. What do
you want windows to do?" with choices for Retry, CAncel and Skip. Clicking
either of them doesn't alleviate the can't copy. I tried maing sure the
folders are not 'Read only'. In all cass but one I was able to change to
archive, but not always. That didn't help. The same thing happens if I try
"drag and drop"
Can anyone help me figure out what to do?

XP can't natively copy to DVD; you need third party software for this. It
can copy to CD hawever. Right click the file you want to copy, use "send to"
to point it to your CD writer (you do have one of those, right?), the wizard
will open and then you can tell it to copy the file to CD.

Thanks Mark!
I thought the limit on XP was the problem, but I was hoping it wasn't.
All I could see was that when I started to direct the copied folder to a DVD
in the DVD/CD burner, that's when the message popped up. I was hoping it was
some other problem because when I tried to compact 3 CDs with photos to a
(1)DVD using only the WinDVD of Sonic, I could only display it as a slide
show and not individual pics.
Thanks again
