"Windows cannot find 'copy'."

When I boot up the system, prior to all the desktop icons
appearing, the following error message comes up:

"Windows cannot find 'copy'. Make sure you typed the
name correctly, and then try again. To search for a
file, click the Start button, and then click Search."

Obviously, since the desktop isn't up yet, it's not
something that I'm typing in.... is there a basic system
version of 'copy' that's somehow gotten wiped out? - a
couple of weeks, something got past my personal firewall
and I had to reinstall Norton completely - perhaps during
all of this 'copy' got clobbered??? How would I check?
Where would I go to get a replacement? In which
directory would I put the replacement?

Greetings

1. Open Regedit by going to Start>>Run and then typing regedit.

2. Then do a find for "winshow" When any key is found, delete it by
pressing the delete key. Be sure to hit the F3 (Find Next) key after
each. There are about 10 or so that need to be find. Regedit will say
"Finished Searching" when complete.

3. Repeat the same step above, but this time search for "winlink"

4. After that is done, close regedit.

5. You will then have to search for the the .dll files stored on the
harddrive. Go to search for files at c: Then search for "winshow" and
"winlink" Delete any files that you find. (Im my case I did not find
any files named winlink)

6. Restart the computer

Had a lot of both winshow AND winlink files - it wouldn't
let me delete winlink.dll until I rebooted in safe mode
and deleted it. The demo version of PestPatrol also
supplied some additional registry entries to delete.
