"windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file. you may not have the appropriate permissions to access the items.

i have updated windows xp. after that i cannot use certain programs like photoshop. norton. as well new movie files that i have downloaded can't be read and are asking for a decoder

who can help?

I have the same problem...can't access control panel or anything - can't
even add a user as the rundlle.exe produces that same error message.

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have
the appropriate permissions to access the item"

No-one seems to know what is going on with this - anywhere. Tried
reinstalling XP but no different
