Everytime I turn my laptop on I am running windows vista premium by the way,
when I log on I receive an error message saying that Windows Calendar was
unable to respond please close and restart the program, I would like it to
autostart when windows starts but there seems to be a problem can anyone help
me?

some have found that by removing the
/reminder
from the Start a Program line under the Actions tab for Windows Calendar in the Task Scheduler.

be sure and remember what you did so you can undo it if it does not work for you.

I have a similar problem.
Having populated Windows Calendar with appointments when I restart the
computer a note comes up that Windows can't start the calendar so has closed
it down. There isn't any other explanation.
If I close that note and open Windows Mail I can open the Windows Calendar.
If I do not close the note and open Windows Mail I cannot open the Calendar.

Can Windows people explain ?

You should install hotfix from KB933942.
