Windows Calendar: WinCal.exe - Corrupt File Message

I hope someone can help. I purchased a new laptop with Vista. I started using
Windows Calendar through Windows Mail and set up some appointments. When I
tried to open WinCal today, I rec'd this error message: "WinCal.exe - Corrupt
File". I followed the suggested direction to run Chkdsk, but then when I run
Chkdsk, I receive a message telling that it can't run while the disk is in
use. Hello? It offers a clickable button to schedule a check upon next start
up (which I click on), but then Check Disk isn't invoked when I do a restart.
I could just reinstall Windows Calendar but can't find anywhere to download
it. Can anyone help? I feel like I'm in Catch 22 Heaven.

Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories and right-click
on the Command Prompt and choose "Run as administrator".
Type in: SFC /SCANNOW and press your Enter key.

This should correct/fix corrupted operating system files and settings.
