Windows blue screen!!!

i am getting quite peeved with windows on my comp recently,

every now and then at least twice a week, im on my comp no specific program
and i get the dredded blue screen, saying windows error, i can only think i
need to re install windows xp but i can't find the cd

any suggestions please email me or reply to this

Next time it happens make a note of the stop error message and type it into
google, you'll have more of an idea about the faulty software/harware...etc.
also check event viewer for any info... Start/control panel/performance
and maintenance/administrative tools/event viewer.

hope this gets you started.

Unfortuntely that's the most important information. Without knowing what
the error says, there's no way to offer any real help.

Neil, have you tried system restore? Go to "Start", click on "help and
support" and then look for "system restore". You will be asked if you want
to establish a date, which you should do first as "backup". Then choose to
restore your system to an earlier date. You may have to go back through
start to do this. Go back to a date which is highlighted at a time when your
computer was not having this problem. It may take several attempts as not
all restoration points are valid or working. If this does not work the worst
you can do is go back to the system restore point you had established as I
had suggested at the beginning of this thread.
