Windows AD not responding

A Dude

Hi,

I have a problem with opening AD user and computers, domain security policy,
sites and services. The error I get is sometimes different but the "invalid
path" comes up most often. Users can still logon, the network is not
affected, and I can go to a networked computer and 'manage' the domain
controller. Only I can't add or view users. Dcdiag and Netdiag run without
errors. Anyone familiar with this?

Thanks

You can't edit users and computer from the Computer Management at Domain
Controllers. Ensure the TCP/IP DNS Settings are correct on both servers and
clients. The domain controller should point to it self if it host the dns
for the particular domain.

I was able to add and edit users with Exchange Manager from other computers.
I do know about the inability of computer management.

Do you have a proxy client? I've had similar problems when the proxy
client is enabled.

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. All you have to do is
disable proxy client when you're managing AD. Or get a natted address
so you won't even need the client on the pc that you use to manage AD.
