I work for a school system and when I install Windows XP
Pro on some systmes it prompts me to activate Windows but
when you click on the icon it says Windows is already
activated and says you to click "OK" and on other systmes
it works fine. After the 30 days are up you can't log
into windows "of course". I have downloaded all the
Windows updates and that does not seem to fix the
problem. I don';t know if anyone else have ru into this
problem but if anyone have any suggestions I would greatly
appreciate it.

Obviously if XP Pro quits working after 30 days, it needed to be
activated or there is some error or problem with the activation
process. Use phone activation. I'm surprised your school system
didn't purchase a volume license. Or maybe they did?

That suggests damage to the dlls concerned, unless you know from other
evidence that it *is* activated (check for presence of the activation
database files windows\system32\wpa.dbl and wpa.bak - if those get
updated after boot the system is activated).

Start - Run the lines
regsvr32 licdll.dll
regsvr32 regwizc.dll

and then try Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools -
Activate Windows
again.
Those dlls can be deregistered by third party software - notably Windows
XP AntiSpy
