Windows Activation at Boot Up

My computer started asking for me to activate windows
everytime I boot up. I activate and it still asks each
time at boot up. I've gone to the Windows Activation and
it says the system is already activated.

Anyone know of a fix for this?

Did you use system restore or recently run a fix on the
operating system. If so you have to reactivate XP.

I had the same problem. It was caused by a corrupt
wpa.dbl file. I restored the file from a backup and
everything is now fine.

The only thing that was installed was SR2..

And the system has been re-activated, and if you go to
Accessories. System Tools, Activate Windows it tells you
that you have already activated Windows. But the next
time you boot it comes right back and asks again.

My computer has just started doing the same tihing. I have changed nothing,
No new hardware or software, but everytime I shutdown and restart, XP wants
to "Activate" again. I've done this three times now with no problem, but how
long will this go on? If it's caused be a corupt wpa file, why didn't the
second activation fix it? I'm to the point where I don't dare shut my machine
down.
