Windows 98 does not recognize my graphics card

S

Selwyn Morgan

Sorry to gatecrash this newsgroup but I am desperate.
I had to format my hard drive as there was a problem and
since then I cannot get my pc to show 256 colors just 16.
Also my pixels is set at 640x480 and I cannot set it on
800x600. My monitor is a Sony Trinitron 17 inch screen
In Systems it just shows a yellow question mark where the
graphics card should be.
Can anyone help me?
Thank you for your time

Try these:

microsoft.public.win98.setup

microsoft.public.win98.display.general

This newsgroup is for XP questions only!

It appears that you are using the default video card driver that were
shipped within Windows 98. These provide only "limited" support. You need
to get the latest Windows 98 compatible video card drivers from the
manufacturer's web site. With several different manufacturers out there,
you will need to know the make/model of your video card.
