multiple monitors

Hi,

I would like to use two monitors to expand one desktop on
my laptop computer. Unfortunately, my secondary monitor
is a bit old and only supports 640x480 and 256-bit color
or lower. But in Windows XP Pro, I can't set resolution
lower than 800x600.

Is there anything I can do?

Is the problem in Windows or the graphic card?

Try using a third party utility to set the display
resolution (one that is not multi-monitor challanged)
rather than display properties.

To change to 640x480 256 color, go to Display Applet, click on Advanced
button,
click on Adapter tab, and then click on List All Modes button
