Windows 7/Office 2003 (Outlook)/ mail client not installed

changed to Windows 7 with a clean install. Installed Office 2003 but the
mail client did not install properly. When going to set program default
Outlook is not listed....

How can I "get" Outlook added to the list?

Start Outlook once with elevated privileges and set it as the default from
within Outlook. Does it work now?
Also make sure you've applies Service Pack 3 and additional updates for
Office 2003.
