Windows 7 Lite

Ok everyone is storming about windows 7
My question is .. Is there a lite version??

I have an Acer Aspire One 7" netbook, currently running that preinstalled
Linux software
I have been told by friends to install Vista Lite, however its got like 1gb
of ddr2 and a 1.6ghz Atom processor
and seeing that Windows 7 is supposedly better than vista it would be
beneficial to give that a try

Any thoughts?

As ©arl says, W7 is already lighter and faster than Vista, but no, there
isn't a special "lite" version.

Remember, it's only in beta at this stage. Install and test at your own
risk.

Vista 'Lite' that they are referring to could be a completely custom
install of Vista using vLite as the installer.....

In recognition of the superiority of Ubuntu over Windows and because,
rightly so, Micro$lut is scared silly of Ubuntu's competition.

I had an Acer One with XP and it flew. Win 7 is far faster than Vista
and should do equally as well as XP on that machine. I now have a Sony
P with Vista Basic, and when Win 7 is released retail, I will gladly
replace the extremely slow Vista.

Frankly, based on having installed Win 7 on my Vista HP notebook, I will
gladly pay for Win 7 for its better operation.

Heh! The Win7 beta works better as a beta than my Vista Home Premium
with all of the eye-candy turned off ever has. Win7 is what Vista
should have been.

Who the **** cares what version of Linux he is using? It all sucks. Linux
sucks and Ubuntu sucks. Nobody should use that piece of shit OS called
ubuntu. Remember, Ubuntu is FREE and NOBODY wants it. That should tell you
all you need to know about that inferior product. Ubuntu was written by
geeks for geeks who can't get laid.

Yes.. Windows 7 has been tested on netbooks and runs very well indeed..

Well, on my Samsung NC10 it did not run well at all.
The Samsung one of the top netbooks, comes with XP, but
flies with Vista.

All sorts of unwanted occurred with Windows 7 including
automatic dimming of the screen even while I was typing.
Occasional loss of the bluetooth mouse (Microsoft),
unresponsive touchpad. Tried it for a day then gave up.
It is really beta software from the netbook standpoint.
