Windows 7 Groups?

So far I can't locate any Windows 7 newsgroups. Are there any on this
server?

I don't know what news server you are using, but if it's a Microsoft
server, no, there aren't any. And unfortunately it's highly unlikely
that there will be. Apparently Microsoft has decided that web-based
forums are better than newsgroups and they are putting their efforts
there. I'm personally sorry that's the case, but it's their decision,
not mine.

However there is at least one non-Microsoft Windows 7 newsgroup:
alt-windows7.general. Not all servers carry it (at least not yet), but
here's one free news server that does: aioe.org

But you're not going to find that on the msnews.microsoft.com news server.

(to clarify) ... which is what the OP is using to post here. Microsoft
only carries microsoft.* groups on their NNTP service. Plus that group
is not carried by many NNTP servers (i.e., it is not pervasive). It is
not getting univerally peered between NNTP servers.

I wonder if it's fear?

No, and there probably will never me. Seems MS is getting rid of
newsgroups in favor of web-based forums. The only Windows7 newsgroup
I've seen tends to be on other newsservers. alt.windows7.general

There's one at news:alt.windows7.general

If you will read the message you replied to, and you quoted below,
you'll see that that's what I said, what Panic said he found and
started using, and what he thanked me for telling him.
