Windows 7 32bit on Dell E5500 BSOD on startup

david

When we boot up normally or in any safe mode we get a BSOD saying
process1_initialization_failed. I've attempted the startup repair and it is
unable to solve the problem. I do not have any system restore points that
it is finding. When I try performing SFC /Scannow it tells me that a repair
is pending and I have to reboot first. Every reboot there after does the
same thing. Is there any way to force windows 7 to perform a repair in the
way that windows XP could? Where it keeps the registry intact but just
reinstalls all the system files. Any ideas? Hardware diagnostics come up
clean.

Thanks,

Dave

I fixed it with the system restore points. They showed up after trying it a
few times. Any ideas what would have caused this?
