I have an HP 4600 printer that is located on a print server. When clients
connect they cannot use it because it says the drivers need to be installed.
There have been several methods of installing a printer on a TSE in the past
and I;ve tried these:

Install it on TSE as a regular network print. This fails saying the driver
is not available. So, I tried installing it as a local and then configuring
a tcp port with the IP address. This installs the printer but nothing
prints. Then once I have the local printer install I tried navigating to the
print server, going into the printers folder, choosing properties, and
adding the windows 2000, 2003 server driver to the print server. It too
fails saying a compatible driver is not available. How can I get this added
on my TSE so clients can use it?

thanks for any help!

It appears that there are no Windows 2003 printer drivers
created yet for that HP 4600 printer. You might be able
to force the terminal server to use LaserJet 4 drivers for
the printer. Try editing the ntprint.inf file.

but i can install the 4600 as a local printer on 2003 by selecting it from the normal windows printer listing??

So since the drivers are already installed, what happens
if you try to manually go into the printer folder and add
the printer? You said this fails, but have you tried to
edit your ntprint.inf file to force the system to use a
different driver for that printer?
