Windows 2003 - Changing hostname

G

I have a 2003 machine with ipv4 and ipv6. I would like to only run ipv6 so I
disabled IP on the adapter. This appears to work except applications can't
find the localhost address. I changed the ComputerName (system properties) to
match the ipv6 name and added an entry in etc\hosts file but when I type
hostname it still gives the ipv4 hostname... and applications are returning
127.0.0.1 as the local address. How can I change the hostname to point to my
v6 hostname ?
