Windows 2000 Terminal Server and Printers

I have a Windows 2000 Server (SP4) running Terminal Services in application
mode.

There are many users using it as a remote desktop and I would like to add a
common printer for everyone to use. In other words a printer setup on the
server that is there and ready for the users to print to when they login.

Anyone know how?
I have tried installing the printer as a local administrator on the actual
console, but only the administrator user sees it when loggin on using a TS
client.

Cheers,

Steve

This has been a problem in many TS and citrix servers. Only the person who
creates the network printer can see it. If I remember correctly, the way I
had to fix the problem was to add it locally, but create a new port, and
point it to our print server.
EX:
go to add printer, add printer locally, select "create new port", then
choose local port. then for the port, type in the shared path,
\\printserver\printer. Choose the correct driver, name it, etc, and it
should work.
Try that, and see if it works. If not, I'll try better to remember what
changes I made to get mine to work. Maybe I'm forgetting a step.

Hi Jared,

Sorry its taken me so long to get back to you. I have just tried your method
and it worked a treat. Thanks very much.

Cheers,

Steve
