Since 2000 is virtually the same as XP, I have a desktop pc that the desktop
image will refresh by itself and the icons change. The owner of it had a
video player on it that he tried to upgrade but the upgrade failed because of
a missing dll file. I would like to do a system restore but obviously 2000
doesn't have it in order to get the system back to where we knew it worked
fine and then try a reinstall of the player. What do you recommend doing
instead?

Thanks in advance.

I would have but there is no Windows 2000 group that I could find. But I
also take it that you don't have an answer.

No I do not, and your question is not XP related, that's why I directed you
to the proper group.
There are many Windows 2000 groups, are you using the Microsoft news server
(msnews.microsoft.com) or your ISP's? Some ISP's don't carry all the MS
groups.
